Belangrijkste aspecten van het UPOV PVP-systeem komen aan bod
We bundelden 25 jaar trainingservaring op het gebied van kwekersrechtsystemen in een uitgebreid online programma. Dit Engelstalige programma bestaat uit acht e-learning modules. De modules behandelen verschillende essentiële onderwerpen, zoals de betekenis en voordelen van een (geharmoniseerd) kwekersrechtssysteem, het wettelijk kader dat is vastgesteld door de UPOV-conventie, administratieve procedures, verschillende PBR-systemen, de achtergrond en praktische aspecten van DUS-testen, het gebruik van moleculaire technieken in PBR, handhaving, uitzonderingen op de rechten, en de relatie tussen PBR en zaadverzamelsystemen, evenals verdragen inzake genetische hulpbronnen.
Uitgebreid programma in acht online modules
De structuur van het programma is als volgt:
- Module 1 - Kwekersrechten: Belang en voordelen
- Module 2 - Wettelijk kader, UPOV-conventie
- Module 3 - Administratieve aspecten, PBR-systemen
- Module 4 - Technische DUS-examinatie deel 1
- Module 5 - Technische DUS-examinatie deel 2
- Module 6 - Handhaving van rechten, uitzonderingen voor niet-commercieel gebruik en FSS
- Module 7 - Europese PBR, Zaadverzamelsystemen, Beleid genetische hulpbronnen
- Module 8 - Routekaart voor implementatie van een PBR-systeem (optionele opdracht)
Elke module biedt een gevarieerde leerervaring met leesmateriaal, interactieve opdrachten, presentaties en video's van experts van over de hele wereld. Het programma is lineair. Dat wil zeggen dat u aan het einde van elke module een online test aflegt, voordat u doorgaat naar de volgende module.
Module 8 is een optionele opdracht waarin deelnemers worden uitgenodigd om een routekaart te maken voor de implementatie van het PBR-systeem van hun land, met specifieke doelen en een tijdschema. Ons DUS-team beoordeelt graag de routekaart en geeft feedback.
Het programma biedt in totaal 80 uur aan lesmateriaal. Alle inhoud is in het Engels. Na het voltooien van de cursus ontvangt u een certificaat. Het programma blijft gedurende zes maanden voor u beschikbaar.

Key aspects of the UPOV PVP system are covered
We bundled 25 years of training experience in the field of Plant Breeders' Rights systems in an extensive online programme. This English-language program consists of eight e-learning modules. The modules cover several essential topics, such as the meaning and benefits of a (harmonised) plant variety rights system, the legal framework established by the UPOV convention, administrative procedures, different PBR systems, the background and practicalities of DUS testing, the use of molecular techniques in PBR, enforcement, exceptions to the rights, and the relationship between PBR and seed collection systems, as well as genetic resource treaties.
Extensive program in eight online modules

- Module 2 - Legal framework, UPOV convention
- Module 3 - Administrative aspects, PBR systems
- Module 4 - Technical DUS examination part 1
- Module 5 - Technical DUS examination part 2
- Module 6 - Enforcement of rights, non-commercial use exceptions and FSS
- Module 7 - European PBR, Seed Collection Systems, Genetic Resources Policy
- Module 8 - Roadmap for Implementing a PBR System (Optional Assignment)
Each module offers a diverse learning experience with reading materials, interactive assignments, presentations and videos from experts from around the world. The program is linear. This means that you take an online test at the end of each module, before moving on to the next module.
Module 8 is an optional assignment in which participants are invited to create a roadmap for the implementation of their country's PBR system, with specific goals and a timetable. Our DUS team is happy to review the roadmap and provide feedback.
The program offers a total of 80 hours of teaching material. All content is in English. After completing the course you will receive a certificate. The program will remain available to you for six months.
