Golden Acres Genetics, Ltd. president Lou Buice has been elected secretary of the Independent Professional Seed Association (IPSA)
Buice began his one year term last month at IPSA’s 22nd Annual Conference and Trade Show in St. Louis, Missouri.
“I am honored to serve with an organization such as IPSA that is dedicated to promoting the interests and capabilities of independent seed companies,” Buice commented. “The future looks bright and independent seed companies remain optimistic about their success in an increasingly competitive marketplace. IPSA works hard to represent these companies as they continue to prosper, and I look forward to being an active partner in that.”
Buice has spent virtually his entire lifetime in agriculture. Throughout his thirty year career he has held numerous sales and marketing management positions within the seed, crop protection, and animal health markets. As the President of Golden Acres Genetics, an independent and family-owned seed company based in Waco, Texas, Buice knows firsthand the importance of the research, business development and education projects that IPSA undertakes.
A member of IPSA since 2007, Buice began a three-year term on the nine-member Board of Directors in January 2010 before being elected secretary for 2011. Buice also served previously as President, First Vice President & Chairman of the Finance Committee for the Texas Seed Trade Association.
Lou and his wife Regina have two sons and a daughter-in-law and reside in Waco,
Golden Acres Genetics announces new Operations Manager
Building on its company mission to professionally serve Southern farmers with custom seed solutions, Golden Acres Genetics, Ltd. is pleased to announce the hiring of Brad Littlefield as the new Operations Manager. Brad was most recently a Graduate Research Assistant at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. Prior to his Graduate studies, Littlefield was a Laboratory
Manager at J. Leek and Associates in Lubbock, Texas.
“Brad’s combination of graduate agricultural education, hands on agricultural laboratory work, and in-depth knowledge of information and technology will greatly benefit Golden Acres and its continuing mission to provide the best corn and grain sorghum hybrids to southern farmers,” said Lou Buice, President of Golden Acres. Brad will begin his new position on February 24, 2011.
Brad and his wife Laurel currently live in Robinson, TX. In his free time Brad is a sports enthusiast who likes to golf and spend time with his wife and two dogs Harold and Dudley. Brad
received his B.S. in Biology from Lubbock Christian University and his M.S. in Agronomy and Soils from Auburn University.
Golden Acres Genetics names new Marketing Manager
Golden Acres Genetics, Ltd. is pleased to announce the promotion of Brooke Reich to Marketing Manager. Reich will be responsible for leading the successful management of the company’s seed product portfolio while furthering the company’s mission to professionally serve Southern farmers with custom seed solutions.
Reich received a bachelor’s degree in communications from Baylor University and worked as a recruitment and case support specialist for a non-profit organization before joining Golden Acres in 2007. In her position as Marketing Associate, Reich was instrumental in supporting the company’s sales and marketing functions.
“Brooke’s four years with the company have allowed her to learn the business from many different angles,” said Lou Buice, President of Golden Acres. “Her deep understanding of
customer needs and desires combined with a strong drive to grow and expand will benefit Golden Acres in its intent to cultivate independence and success alongside southern farmers.”
Brooke and her husband Keith reside in Waco, Texas. Brooke enjoys reading, writing and spending time outdoors, especially riding horses or hunting at the family ranch in south Texas.
