Hybrid Breeding Strategies

Foundational and advanced level combined, designed for hybrid plant breeders and their teams. Hybrid breeding courses are unique and rare, and this course will aid in the design and development of a true hybrid breeding engine, covering the topics of breeding targets, germplasm, and trait organization into pools, maximizing natural phenomena of hybrid vigor and heterosis, the importance of hybrid testing/evaluation, general and specific combining abilities approach, ways to establish heterotic pools/groups and accelerate the rate of performance, and more. The last hour is reserved for Q&A, and besides our instructors, we invite another experienced breeder for discussion.
