Steven Taves and Sydnie Shepherd have joined Betaseed as sales associates working in four major sugarbeet markets covering Minnesota, North Dakota and Canada.

Steven Taves

Taves is a new sales associate working with Cody Lehman, Betaseed key accounts manager, to serve sugarbeet growers in Minnesota, North Dakota and Alberta, Canada, in the sales regions known as Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative (MDFC), Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative (SMBSC) and Lantic Sugar (LAN).

Sydnie Shepherd

Shepherd is a new sales associate working with the Betaseed sales team and John Samdahl, sales manager, in the American Crystal Sugar Company market in the Red River Valley region. Her responsibilities include social media, market development, industry meetings and assisting with field trials. 
Taves resides in Glyndon, Minn., and worked in sales with a regional seed company for two years before joining Betaseed. His experience includes working with sugarbeets as an intern for American Crystal Sugar Company for two summers while studying at North Dakota State University (NDSU). Taves grew up on a farm in Glyndon, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics and a minor in Crop and Weed Science and General Agriculture from NDSU in 2021. 
Shepherd recently worked in sales for a heavy construction equipment dealer. Her experience includes working with sugarbeets as an intern with Betaseed for three summers. She was raised on a sugarbeet farm in Durbin, N.D., and continues to help on her family’s farm. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Crop and Weed Science as well as Agricultural Business from NDSU in 2020. She currently resides in Leonard, N.D.
