For over 20 years, TPC Sawgrass agronomists have relied on DLF genetics to overseed their dormant bermudagrass in the winter. Tune in March 10-13th.

The Players Championship is played at the flagship site, TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedre Beach, Florida. This was the first TPC golf course to be constructed (1980) and is now the headquarters of the PGA. Interestingly, it was also the first golf course to design “stadium seating” around the greens – grassy slopes where spectators can sit and watch the action below. TPC Sawgrass also features one of golf’s most recognizable holes – the par-3, 137 yard 17th, which is known as the “Island Green”.

Currently, the winter overseeding formulations use our Champion Fine (80/20) perennial ryegrass and Chewings fescue mixture on greens, tees, fairways and roughs. This specialty mix is 80% perennial ryegrass varieties (Bandalore, Thrive and Hancock) and 20% Chewings fescue (SR5130 and Leeward). Sabre 3 Poa trivialis is also on the greens and TransAm intermediate ryegrass is used for general landscaping on the property.
