Wouter Bakker, René Rijs

Bakker Brothers, wholly owned by Zaad Holdings Ltd., announces the resignation of Wouter Bakker, CEO of the company. René Rijs, currently CFO of the company, will take over Wouter’s role as CEO as per 1 November 2020.

“It is with immense pleasure that I was able to lead Bakker Brothers over the recent years. In this time I have seen this company grow and flourish, from “seedling to strong plant”, all the while keeping our close-knit family culture intact” said Wouter. “I will leave this company with very nice memories and a sense of accomplishment; the company is ready for the next phase and the next type of leadership. I am confident René is the right fit for the company together with the experienced management team to guide the company it is heading and I wish Bakker Brothers much success”.

René Rijs will assume his new role from November 2020. René: “2020 marks the beginning of the next phase for the company to accelerate our growth ambitions and move to a fully fledged R&D based company. To be able to guide Bakker Brothers and its devoted employees into its next stage is an honour. We will accelerate our growth ambitions by diversifying our portfolio through the expansion of our R&D activities in order to serve our focus markets even better with our own products".

Bakker Brothers thanks Wouter sincerely for all his 16 years with the company and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.
