November 8, 2010

Becker Underwood, Inc. announced today the hiring of Philip Thornton and Barry Skipper as territory managers for seed enhancement and inoculant products. These additions allow the company to strengthen its sales and customer service support in eight southern states.

“We are pleased to welcome Philip and Barry to our team of territory managers," says Mike McFatrich, national sales manager at Becker Underwood. “Both bring strong agricultural sales experience to their new positions. They will be valuable additions as we expand our efforts to provide innovative solutions to the growing needs of our distributors and their retailers throughout the United States.”

Barry Skipper will be based in the Memphis, Tennessee, area and will manage sales and customer service support efforts for the Missouri Bootheel area, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.

He has more than 20 years of experience in agricultural service entities and most recently was the health, safety and environmental manager on a project for BE&K, a Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) company.

Skipper previously served as director of the environmental services division of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and has had extensive business and sales experience with crop inputs. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in agricultural science.

Philip Thornton will be based in the Lubbock, Texas, area and will manage sales of Becker Underwood seed enhancement and inoculant products in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona.

He most recently worked for Crop Production Services in Slaton, Texas, where he was responsible for sales of seed, chemicals and fertilizer.

Other professional experience includes agronomy services, product sales and store management for several ag retailers.
