And yet we, like you, are still here — making the best of a difficult situation, finding ways to move ahead at a time of significant uncertainty, and ensuring vegetables will continue to be grown, sold, and consumed for healthier lives and more resilient livelihoods around the world.
In this annual report, we want to show you what made 2019 at the World Vegetable Center special and inspiring. Challenging, too.
All told, it was a great 12 months! We’re proud to share with you:
- How our new field phenotyping system (one of only five in the world) operates
- The story of enterprising farmers in Zanzibar who know taste sells
- Private partnerships along the vegetable value chain
- The location of our newest office
- Donors and partners that make our work possible
- … and more

Looking back at 2019 makes us realize we have the capacity and resilience to be even stronger going forward. To all our supporters and champions, thank you. To the people we serve, it is an honor, and you can count on WorldVeg to be there this year, and in the years to come.
