National Seed Association of India elects new Governing Council


New Delhi, India
September 27, 2019

On Friday September 27th 2019, the National Seed Association of India (NSAI) held its 13th Annual General Meeting at National Academy of Agricultural Science in New Delhi.  It was attended by NSAI members from across India. The chief guest for the function was Shri Ashwini Kumar, Joint Secretary (Seeds).  The AGM was presided over by Shri M Prabhakar Rao.

The AGM was followed by the election for the new Governing Council. The election was held under Election committee under the chairmanship of Shri Pawan Kumar Kansal and three observers. The following new candidates have been elected for GC 2019-21:

  1. Shri C Rambabu
  2. Shri Sudhir Kansal
  3.  Shri Dinesh bhai Patel
  4. Shri Siddhartha Sen
  5. Shri K Praveen Kumar
  6. Shri Rakesh Jain (from Association category)

Immediately after the declaration of election results, the newly constituted GC convened a meeting, on the same day, to elect the Office Bearers (OB) for 2019-21. The GC has unanimously elected the following OB members  for term of 2019-21.

  1. Shri Prabhakar Rao - President
  2. Shri Kamal O Zunzunwala - Vice President
  3. Shri KS Narayanswamy - General Secretary
  4. Ashwani Garg - Treasurer

The members of new GC and OB have asserted to constantly work for the betterment of NSAI and Indian seed industry.
