Incotec presents sustainability strategy at ‘Seed meets Technology 2019

Enkhuizen, The Netherlands
September 9, 2019

At ‘Seed meets Technology’ (24-26 September) in Zwaagdijk seed enhancement company Incotec will be presenting the companies new theme: Mission Zero. In stand number 5 Incotec explains the commitment to making the company more sustainable. Erik Jan Bartels, Managing Director: “The critical issues of global food security and sustainability affect us all. Mission Zero underlines our commitment to the role we play as seed enhancer in helping our customers achieve their goals.”

Seed enhancement and coating technologies already contribute to more sustainable agriculture by enabling a reduction in the use of crop protection products of up to 90%. Included in the strategic direction of Mission Zero are new initiatives such as developing alternatives to replace microplastics in coatings, substantially extending the range of organic products, working on techniques for the successful application of biologicals and scoping the possibilities for biodegradable coatings. Examples are our organic pelleting products for lettuce, chicory and celeriac, as well as a broad range of priming products for spinach, squash, tomato, brassica, carrot, parsley, pepper and Solanum torvum. Recently we added a number of organic upgrading products based on X-ray for tomato and pepper.
