Enlist E3 soybeans now available - Dairyland Seed offering 10 varieties ready for 2019

Dairyland Seed will now offer one of the most advanced soybean technologies to growers in the North Central Corn Belt with the launch of Enlist E3™ soybeans.
Now available for 2019 planting, Enlist E3 soybeans build on the glyphosate and glufosinate systems in soybeans, adding tolerance to 2,4-D choline in Enlist™ herbicides. This provides growers more options in the fight against weeds and weed resistance.
“Every year, the weed pressure for soybean farmers is increasing,” said Dairyland General Manager Gary Leeper. “We see a lot of resistant pigweed, marestail, waterhemp and ragweed in our area. Weeds can seriously interfere with yield and just get more and more difficult to control. Having a new technology in soybeans is a game-changer.”
As part of the Enlist weed control system, Enlist E3 soybeans can be sprayed with Enlist Duo® and Enlist One® herbicides, containing 2,4-D choline with Colex-D® technology. Enlist herbicides feature near-zero volatility and minimized potential for physical drift.
For the past few seasons, select production growers have had a chance to try Enlist E3 soybeans and the Enlist weed control system on their farms before commercial approval. Among them was Dairyland customer Jeremiah Undem, who farms in North Dakota. He was impressed and thinks other farmers in the area will be, too. “Kochia, marestail, velvetleaf and waterhemp are our toughest weeds, depending on the field. Enlist Duo handled those,” said Undem. “I’m very excited for this product.” Although Undem faced a dry season when he planted Enlist E3 soybeans, he was pleased with the yield, saying, “No question, I’d plant ’em again.”
Dairyland will be offering 10 varieties of Enlist E3 soybeans for 2019 planting. These varieties were selected for their performance in the North Central Corn Belt.
Undem echoed a common theme among growers in the area noting, “A clean field means everything. A good burndown and early control makes your summer a whole lot easier.” He added, “The biggest draw with Enlist Duo is the package: two modes of action in one product. The whole package was extremely friendly to use.”
Enlist E3 soybeans were jointly developed by Dow AgroSciences and MS Technologies. Enlist Duo and Enlist One herbicides are not registered for sale or use in all states or counties. Contact your state pesticide regulatory agency to determine if a product is registered for sale or use in your area. Enlist Duo and Enlist One herbicides are the only 2,4-D products authorized for use in Enlist crops. Consult Enlist herbicide labels for weed species controlled. Always read and follow label directions.
