Equinom’s pepper reigns supreme

Israel
July 9, 2018

Equinom’s Bell Pepper (Capsicum Annuum) has been ranked on the top of Israel’s ten pepper varieties, achieving better yields and overall performance compared to the leading commercial variety

For the second consecutive year, Equinom’s Maximus and Bishop red pepper varieties developed for Danziger Seeds show excellent results in Israel’s Arava R&D Annual Variety Evaluation Survey.

“This is an expectational achievement for us,” says Equinom CEO Gil Shalev, “the varieties have been tested after just four years of breeding, a record time by industry standards, and are already outperforming market’s #1 commercial variety for the past 10 years in most quality categories. This is unheard of especially in such a saturated and competitive sector.”

Results validate that Equinom’s computational breeding methodology on multiple traits and multi-gene traits creates superior products in record time, and a fraction of the cost.
Equinom’s breeding methodology is successfully implemented also in sesame and alternative plant protein.
