On 3 Sept., China Soybean Expo 2010 & Beidahuang Soybean Festival was opened at Jusan Substation of Heilongjiang Farms & Land Reclamation Administration, China’s green soybean capital.
Zhou Tienong, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Gao Hongbin, Vice Minister of Agriculture, Shen Liguo, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Heilongjiang Provincial People’s Congress, and some other senior officials were present at the opening ceremony. Officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and China Soybean Industry Association (CSIA), academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and over 1500 distinguished guests and businessmen from China and other 20 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, India, Russia, Japan, ROK and Taiwan, also participated in this event.
China Soybean Expo 2010 & Beidahuang Soybean Festival was sponsored by China Soybean Industry Association and Heilongjiang Provincial People’s Government and organized by Heilongjiang Farms & Land Reclamation Administration.
This Expo announced an impressive slogan for vitalization of China’s soybean industry: Develop Domestic Soybean Industry, Build Green Soybean Capital. Its activities included the High-Level Forum on Sustainable Development of the International Soybean Industry, the Forum on Development of Technical Innovation Strategic Alliance of China’s Soybean Industry, and a series of trade talks. It also demonstrated the latest results in the fields of soybean production, processing and research in China and products of some processing enterprises, made publicity on the brands of green and safe non-transgenic soybean of Heilongjiang Province, and advocated a path of modernization, industrial vertical integration and sustainable development for vitalization of China’s soybean industry.Meanwhile, it served as an exhibition and trade platform for market-oriented operation, industrial vertical integration, and economic and technical cooperation, contributing to the progress and growth of China’s soybean industry.
