The DAFM Winter Cereal Recommended Lists 2019 was recently released and as always provids a crucial tool for selecting and recommending varieties. Below we have outlined some key highlights from available Seedtech varieties.

Winter Barleys:

QUADRA hybrid barley is now a control variety in DAFM trials and is a consistent performer for Irish growers.
New Hybrid Barley varieties BAZOOKA and BELFRY are a step ahead on yield, grain quality and straw characteristics.
KWS KOSMOS is now fully recommended and is the conventional 6-row barley of choice, especially for straw strength.

Winter Wheat:

GARRUS has a good combination of yield, disease resistance and straw quality and very suitable for early drilling.
