New publication available to help Kansas farmers identify crop pests

Identifying insects that may be eating their way through your wheat or corn field just got a bit easier. “Crop Insects of Kansas” is a new publication available for sale from Kansas State University.
“We saw a need for a simple reference with good quality pictures so growers, consultants, agents and others could keep it handy when they are monitoring their crops and notice some damage or insects that they need to know about in a very timely manner,” said K-State Research and Extension entomologist, Jeff Whitworth. He, along with Holly Davis and Phil Sloderbeck are authors of the publication.
The publication, described as a field guide to important arthropod pests and beneficial insects that affect major crops in Kansas, has color photos. The cost is $11.40 plus shipping.
