The Royal Horticultural Society announced an Award of Garden Merit to 20 Zinnia varieties from their flagship trial garden in Wisley. Overall there were 146 varieties entered for the trial by Fleuroselect member companies. The project was completed within the framework of the Fleuroselect 2017 Year of the Zinnia campaign.

PanAmerican Seed received four Awards of Garden Merit for the following Zinnias:
• Double Zahara Fire
• Double Zahara Salmon Rose
• Zahara Cherry Improved
• Zahara Coral Rose
