Together the Bayer running team raised 5,700 dollars to support the ‘Motivation Freedom through Mobility’ charity and ‘The Monterey Ag Education Program’.
It has become a tradition that each August the Salinas Valley Bayer Vegetable sales teams together with many of their customers run the local Half Marathon to raise money for charity. 2016 was a difficult year for the run, smoke from a large wild fire that went on to burn for several weeks settled over the course and the run unfortunately had to be cancelled; poor air quality and running typically do not mix.
In the spirit of keeping momentum going, after some rearranging and re scheduling many of the runners went on to complete the Big Sur Half in Monterey on November 13th.
Together the Bayer running team raised 5,700 dollars, which will go to supporting the ‘Motivation Freedom through Mobility’ charity, a global based charity providing wheelchair’s for underdeveloped areas and ‘The Monterey Ag Education Program’, a local charity that gets young children involved in agriculture.
This annual event fosters a sense of togetherness amongst all involved. Bayer is proud to support such community causes and will continue to in the years to come.
