Iden Biotechnology is proud to announce the incorporation as an External Advisor for its Board of Directors of Claudio Torres, Agricultural Engineer with extensive experience at several key managing roles (Managing Director, Senior Vice President and CEO) in companies of the agriculture sector across cultures and geographies. Claudio Torres with his vast management and leadership experience, has contributed to significant growth of important agricultural companies such as Advanta Seeds, Monsanto Singapore and Monsanto Chile.
We welcome Claudio Torres to our team as External Advisor and we are confident that his valuable experience will positively contribute to Iden Biotechnology strategic vision and will lead to the growth and market establishment of our company to deliver innovative products and solutions for the worldwide agriculture sector.
Claudio Torres is an Agricultural Engineer by the Pontificia Universidad Catolica in Santiago, Chile, and has an MBA by Tulane University in New Orleans, USA, and a Master of applied Finances by the School of Business Economic, Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago, Chile.
Claudio Torres is currently President Director at Sewu Segar Nusantara, a company based in Indonesia, that distributes and markets locally grown and imported fruits. He has worked as a global CEO at Advanta Seeds, a global seed and technology supplier with a global footprint listed at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange of India (NSE). He contributed to the achievement of almost 3 years accelerated growth in the company by implementation of an aggressive growth strategy for the next 5 years; properly communicated and supported with a sound change management process; with a strong focus on profitability and core products with competitive advantage, stronger discipline culture. He also worked in the implementation on a comprehensive investors strategy communication plan; to drive focus away from other Indian listed companies to be recognized and understood as global player and attracting investor outside India.
He has worked as a president for Asia Pacific in Monsanto Singapore, a leading global provider of technology-based solutions and agricultural products that improve farm productivity and food quality. From his position he achieved a 3X EBIT line growth over the last 2 years driven by focus on segmentation, distribution strategy, portfolio renewal, demand creation activities and strong efforts on operational excellence. Profit contribution growth has been achieved across all countries and business unit.
Previously he worked as Managing Director, South America in Monsanto Chile achieving a continuous midteens growth on profitability within the region achieving the number one market share on every single market.
Additional previous experience includes Regional Finance Director Monsanto Chile; Commercial Manager South America Seminis Vegetable Seeds, Chile; SAP Implementation Project Lead Seminis Vegetable Seeds, Chile; Marketing Manager South America, Seminis Vegetable Seeds, Chile; Brazil Integration Manager at Seminis Brazil and various roles as country sales manager, sales rep, technical development rep.
