Iden Biotechnology has recently expanded its infrastructure with a R&D greenhouse designed for the scaled up validation of the products developed by the R&D team in the areas of agrobiologicals and crop improvement. With a Dutch style and glass cover, the greenhouse has a surface of around 220 m2. This automated greenhouse counts with the latest technologies in climate control, in order to keep constant abiotic conditions and avoid the presence of new variables that could interfere in the research work. The greenhouse allows the validation of our patented products and technologies in line with the lab activities of optimization and product production scale up.
The greenhouse counts with a handling and control area, storage room, confinement corridor and three independent cabins for plant growth. Each of the cabins can hold different climatic conditions, offering great versatility in the testing of products and technologies.
Besides the greenhouse, Iden counts with an experimental field of around 300m2 for the preliminar product testing in open field before starting with the production scaling up. The field area counts with various plots with a dripping irrigation system.
Recently Juan Jose Rodriguez has joined Iden as R&D Facilities Technician. He is an Agricultural Engineer with vast experience as agricultural development director and field and greenhouse management in plant biotechnology projects.
These capacities allow us to complete the product development cycle from lab scale to field validation with our own infrastructures, bringing our technological developments closer to the company clients: seed developers and producers and agrochemical industry.
