The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) announced an extension of deregulation to a line of genetically engineered (GE) potato developed by J.R. Simplot Company for low acrylamide potential, reduced black spot bruising, and lowered reducing sugars. The effective date of the determination is January 13, 2016.
