Visits to Bayer CropScience Vegetable Seeds' US headquarters in Parma, Idaho

Frank Terhorst, Jim Blome, Lawrence Wasden, Clive Strong and Jim Hoover visited the Vegetable Seeds US Headquarters in Parma, Idaho.


Lunch was served to a small group of Vegetable Seeds, Parma employees. Both Frank and Jim spoke about their roles and how they see Vegetable Seeds in Bayer and responded to questions from the group.
 
Frank Terhorst, Global Head of Seeds for Bayer CropScience LP, and Jim Blome, President & CEO for Bayer CropScience LP and the Head of Crop Protection for the North American region, visited the Vegetable Seeds US Headquarters in Parma, Idaho on November 17th for their first time. Stacy Woodruff, Vegetable Seeds US Country Head, along with other Regional Heads located in Parma, provided a packed agenda included one on one introductions; small group visits, a tour of Vegetable Seeds Processing & Quality Assurance.

A lunch was provided with an assortment of different department groups where an open question and answer session was completed. Their afternoon concluded with a visit to a key customer directed by Emily Watson, Country Sales Manager for US & Canada. The common thread through all the discussions was the shared vision that our people are our most important asset and safety really does come first! Through many discussion and Q&A sessions it was clear that Bayer is poised for strong growth and Vegetable Seeds is recognized as a key part of the long term growth strategy. It was a great experience to have a visit from our Leadership team!

On November 19th, Attorney General Lawrence Wasden, Chief of Natural Resources Division, Clive Strong along with Deputy Director State Government Affairs, Bayer Corporation, Jim Hoover visited the Vegetable Seeds US Headquarters in Parma, Idaho. Helping government official understand our business is key to long term growth. In Idaho we have very strong support from our highest officials and we have a very seed trade friendly Department of Agriculture. This was a great opportunity to meet and give a tour to our guests.

We were able to show in detail how our business gives back to the State and community be being a provider of strong vegetable genetics and sustainable food solutions. The message was well received and it is clear that we have strong support from our local and state officials. Following the discussions and presentations the group was given a tour by Eric Nelson, Regional Head of QA.
