Wendy Ann Smith named AgGateway Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

The AgGateway Board of Directors is pleased to announce Wendy Ann Smith, Ph.D. will join the organization in the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. “Wendy has the leadership qualities and experience that we were seeking to fill the EVP/COO role”, said Rod Conner AgGateway’s CEO. “We are confident that her impeccable credentials and significant skill-set will help AgGateway in its quest to fulfill its mission”, he added.
Wendy has been actively involved in eBusiness through her participation in both AgGateway and RAPID over the past twelve years. She most recently served AgGateway in the role of acting Executive Vice President and as a member of the AgGateway Management Team. She has also been a member of the Directory Oversight, Conference, and Future Vision/Direction Committees and was a member of the PCI project governing board.
Wendy has had a long and successful career in agriculture over the last 25 years. Most recently employed by BASF, she worked in several management positions having joined BASF with the American Cyanamid acquisition in July 2000. Wendy has a bachelor’s degree in Botany and Plant Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Ph.D. in Botany from the University of California, Riverside.
