Canada - Ed Seidle named Pulse Promoter of the Year 2014

Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
January 13, 2015

BASF Canada and Saskatchewan Pulse Growers (SPG) announced today that Ed Seidle has been named the Pulse Promoter of the Year for 2014

The award is given annually to an individual who has made an extraordinary contribution to the development of Canada’s pulse industry. The award was presented to Seidle at CropSphere 2015 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

“With more than 60 years of successful pedigreed seed production and 25 years of crop and soil studies, Mr. Seidle has certainly made his mark on the pulse industry,” said Danielle Eastman, Brand Manager for Clearfield crops at BASF Canada. “We are proud to recognize his significant work and honour him with this award.”

Mr. Seidle is the senior partner of a multi-farm family pedigreed seed production enterprise in Medstead, Saskatchewan with his two sons and nephew. He keeps records of their crops and their land, capturing changes in the soil, climate, cropping threats and techniques.

“We are extremely pleased to recognize Ed Seidle’s contributions to and achievements in the pulse industry in Saskatchewan. His ongoing work in the field makes him an excellent pulse ambassador,” says Carl Potts, Executive Director of Saskatchewan Pulse Growers.
