Western Grains Research Foundation is contributing partner to the Organic Science Cluster II

Western Grains Research Foundation (WGRF) is pleased to be contributing to the Organic Science Cluster II (OSCII). OSCII is an industry-supported research and development endeavor initiated by the Organic Agriculture Centre of Canada at Dalhousie University in collaboration with the industry applicant, the Organic Federation of Canada. OSCII is supported by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Growing Forward 2 Program and over 65 contributing partners.
OSCII includes more than 135 collaborating researchers from over 40 research institutions across Canada. WGRF will be investing $196,066 over the next 4 years towards 3 projects:
- Impacts of Reduced Tillage and Diversified Cropping Sequences Under Organic Management in the Semi-arid Brown Soil Zone – Myriam Fernandez,Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada
- Restoring Yield Productivity and C Sequestration in Organic Farming Systems on the Prairies – Martin Entz, University of Manitoba
- Novel Cultural and Mechanical Weed Control for Flax – Steve Shirtliffe, University of Saskatchewan
