Update on Monsanto BioAg (The BioAg Alliance)
Canada
March 11, 2014
Novozymes and Monsanto Company have entered into a long-term strategic alliance to transform the development and commercialization of sustainable biological solutions for agriculture. The new BioAg Alliance, to be known as Monsanto BioAg, will allow the companies to leverage assets and technologies to bring more and better microbial-based solutions to the market.
The alliance brings together Novozymes’ capabilities for discovering, developing, and producing microbial solutions with Monsanto’s microbial discovery, advanced biology, field testing, and commercial capabilities. Novozymes will continue to produce and package the commercial products for the Canadian market out of their Saskatoon and Milwaukee facilities. The employees that are responsible for these functions will continue to be Novozymes employees.
Sales and Marketing responsibilities for the Novozymes’ portfolio of ag biological products will shift to Monsanto.
Monsanto’s existing sales staff will continue to represent Monsanto’s existing seed, trait and crop protection businesses with their accounts. Former Novozymes sales staff (now Monsanto BioAg staff) will continue to represent the legacy Novozymes portfolio of Biological products.
In terms of product transactions for the 2014 growing season, it’s business as usual. Customers should continue to contact their existing Monsanto BioAg (formerly Novozymes) sales representative for product support; and continue to contact the Novozymes order desk regarding purchase orders and shipping timelines. Any future changes to ordering processes will be communicated once decided.
The dedicated sales and marketing teams will enable business continuity and ensure that sensitive business information will remain confidential.
Thanks for your continued support of our products and your assistance as we embark on this exciting new trail together!
