French President Hollande shows his support for agricultural biotech

In a speech given today, at an event organised by the Sofiproteol group for the celebration of its 30th anniverssary, French President Holland highlighted the importance of green biotechnology, stating that:
“We know, and I do not want to offend the Minister (of Agriculture), livestock production will not be enough in the long run. So we need to add plant productions in order to have high protein diet”
“Green biotechnology is able to develop new molecules of high added value”
“French agriculture gets its strength in its diversity”, it would be a mistake “to oppose production (models) one against another”
