John Brutty has joined Burrus Hybrids as general sales manager with overall responsibility for sales force innovation, dealer relations, and customer services. The announcement was made by Tom Burrus, president of Burrus Hybrids.
“John is a creative, strategic thinker who has extensive experience in grain marketing,” said Burrus. “With the cutting-edge technology and high quality hybrids that we offer, John’s background and capabilities are a tremendous fit. Plus, he values our culture as an independent, farm-family owned company. We consider the addition of John’s leadership a terrific advantage to our sales staff and customers.”
Previously with Cargill AgHorizons as a sales manager for 10 years, Brutty was responsible for coordinating marketing services and crop insurance. During his leadership, Cargill AgHorizons more than doubled the bushels purchased. Brutty also has seed experience as national sales manager for Hoegemeyer Hybrids as well as excelling in sales positions with Mycogen, Cargill, and AgriPro.
Burrus Hybrids, founded in 1935, is a family-owned, land-based corn, soybean, and alfalfa seed company with a multi-brand strategy providing consistent performance and outstanding value to growers in Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
Burrus is a leader in variable rate planting technology as well as MyFarms computer-driven crop optimization planner — tools that are the most sophisticated in the seed industry today for matching product and plant density recommendations. Since its inception, Burrus has offered 100% free replant to guarantee farmers a growing start.
“Grower profitability is our objective,” said Burrus. “The best way to do that is with great talent like John and to bring tremendous product diversification, high yield, and choice to our customers.”
