BCPC Congress 2024 – New Approaches in Agronomy

United Kingdom
28th August 2024

BCPC Congress 26-27 November 2024, Cedar Court Hotel, Harrogate.
Stream B: New Approaches in Agronomy

Discover the latest impact of the UK’s Sustainable Farming Incentive –  Join the ‘New Approaches in Agronomy’ Stream B session at BCPC Congress 2024. Stream B presentations will highlight pest control, integrated pest management and digital farming.

This session will offer you the unique opportunity to learn about cutting-edge pest control technologies and the latest integrated pest management strategies, in addition to innovations in digital agriculture, helping you stay ahead in the field.

We are thrilled to introduce our impressive line-up of speakers joining us on our first day. These industry leaders and experts will share their knowledge on a range of topics, including pest control technologies, IPM findings on AHDB strategic monitor farms, and more.

Dr Nick Tillett (Engineer, Tillett & Hague Technology Ltd ) will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of alternative pest control options and their feasibility in the real farming world. You will come away with an understanding about how that relates to precision farming options in the Sustainable Farming Initiative.

David Jones (Farm Manager, Morely Farms Ltd ) will focus his presentation on the gap between scientists and farmers. As an inquisitive farmer, David wants to improve how to better use publications, projects and papers in practice to make farming more effective.

Henny Lowth (Senior Knowledge Transfer Manager, AHDB) and Matthew Brearly (Knowledge Transfer Manager, AHDB) are presenting a joint session which will cover the key IPM findings following the AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds Monitor Farm groups. The group brings together likeminded farmers wishing to improve their business by sharing performance information and best practice around a nationwide network of host farms. They will also look at further trials down the pipeline.
