The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Biotechnology Regulatory Services (BRS) is announcing a new flexibility for BRS importation permits in APHIS eFile.
We continue to act on stakeholder feedback seeking improvements in the APHIS BRS permit process. Today, we have implemented a new flexibility that allows permit holders to reuse import labels. This flexibility eliminates the need for permit holders to request additional labels if they have used all the import labels they received with their permit. This new flexibility will also save time and resources and help ensure permit holders have a more consistent customer experience when obtaining permits from APHIS BRS and Plant Protection and Quarantine.
Please visit our APHIS 2000 Permit Application and Compliance Reporting Job Aid (9.61 MB) to learn more about this new permitting flexibility and review the updated instructions that accompany import labels.
