Corteva Agriscience announces Loralee Orr as Leader of Canadian Commercial Business

Calgary, Alberta, Canada
March 6, 2024

Today Corteva Agriscience announced the appointment of Loralee Orr as Canada Commercial Leader, succeeding Jeremy Dirks, who is transitioning to Vice President of Corteva’s Global Corn Portfolio. Orr will remain based in Corteva’s Canadian head office in Calgary, Alberta, where she will lead the organization as it delivers a pipeline of new, sustainable seed and crop protection solutions to Canadian farmers in the years ahead.

A well-respected veteran of Canada’s agriculture sector, Orr moves into the role with more than 27 years of commercial seed and crop protection experience, holding leadership positions within the organization including Communications Leader, Marketing Communications Leader, Sales Leader and, most recently, Marketing Leader.

“Five years ago, Corteva was formed as the only agriscience company 100 per cent dedicated to agriculture,” said Orr. “I am proud of how we’ve secured our place as a leading Canadian seed and crop science business thanks to our customer focus and powerhouse R&D engine. I am honoured to lead the Canadian business as we continue to grow, evolve and innovate to meet the needs of farmers now and in the future.”

Growing up on a farm in High Bluff, Manitoba, gave Orr her lifelong passion for agriculture. A strong advocate for Canadian growers, Orr is a graduate of the University of Manitoba’s Agriculture program, represents Corteva on the board of CleanFarms Canada and serves on the CropLife Canada chemistry committee.

“I look forward to collaborating with agriculture stakeholders across the value chain to help our country use innovation to meet the growing demand for food and fuel with a safe, sustainable, affordable supply,” said Orr.

Orr takes over leadership of the Canadian business as Corteva globally increases its focus and investment in sustainable technologies, including biologicals. Corteva is now a global leader in biologicals after the acquisitions of biological solutions provider Stoller and microbiological technologies leader Symborg.
