The Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) is excited to open the 2024 cycle of Seeding Solutions, a competitive grant program that supports research to solve urgent issues across our Research Priority Areas. FFAR is accepting pre-proposal applications and anticipates awarding a total of up to $10 million in 2024 Seeding Solutions grants.
Seeding Solutions grantees must provide matching funds from non-federal sources and identify an innovation that advances sustainable food and agriculture research. FFAR will match funds up to $1 million. Average FFAR grants range from $300,000 to $1 million, but applicants may bring in additional funds.
Applicants’ research must align with one or more of FFAR’s Research Priority Areas, which advance thriving production systems, sustainably vibrant agroecosystems, access to healthy foods and strengthening our scientific workforce. Successful applications further serve the public good by making data open and accessible.
Applicants must submit pre-proposals by April 3, 2024, at 5 p.m. ET. Full application criteria and eligibility requirements are available on the Seeding Solutions Request for Applications page.
FFAR highly encourages applications from Hispanic-Serving Institutions, 1890s Land-Grant Institutions and other Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Tribal Colleges and Universities, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions and Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions.
