Syngenta Flowers is sponsor of School Garden Challenge 2023 in the United Kingdom

School Garden Challenge

For a couple of years now, the Three Counties Agricultural Society organizes the annual School Garden Challenge. This is an educational gardening competition for a range of children and (mentally disabled) young adults in which they have to create a theme garden at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival. Just as last year, Syngenta Flowers will be one of the large supporters for this campaign.

The mission of the RHS Campaign for School Gardening is to give children and young people (from two-year-olds to young adults with special educational needs and disabilities opportunities) to grow and connect with nature. They do this by supporting school staff, home educators and youth group leaders with training, resources and advice, so they can encourage young people to explore the outdoors and learn how to care for plants and the planet.

For the second year in a row, Syngenta Flowers is part of this project and provides the plant materials. The theme for 2023 is ‘Bring your favourite book to life’ and the project has just kicked off this January.

Neil Fishlock, Retail Key Account Manager UK: “Introducing gardening to the next generations is very dear to us. But inclusivity is just as important. And by being part of this initiative, we can make sustainable difference in many ways.”

At the RHS Malvern Spring Festival on 11-14 May, these school gardens will be displayed and within 5 levels a winner will be picked. Until that time, the young participants will be guided through the entire gardening process.
