Barenbrug USA is excited to announce the recent hire of Bret Winsett as Forage Product Manager.
In this position, Bret will provide technical and sales support for Barenbrug USA’s network of professional forage distributors. Additionally, he will be working closely with Barenbrug USA’s research and development team to continue Barenbrug’s goal of bringing new and innovative products to the North American forage market
Bringing over 38 years of experience the last 3 of which have been at Barenbrug as a Forage Sales Territory Manager where he helped grow Barenbrug USA's market share in Canada and the Midwest along with the Northeast. Winsett began his career at FFR Cooperative in 1983. Directing their grass breeding program in several states, he brought several forage grass cultivars, that are available today, to market. While he was at Miles Enterprises he evaluated and sourced new and improved forages for Miles ForagePro and their customers. More recently, he has consecutively worked for Byron Seeds and Hood River seeds. As National Sales Manager for Hood River Seeds Winsett sought to provide the best support to their customers through education, presentations, and one-on-one conversations.

Winsett completed both his Bachelor of Science in Crop and Soil Science and his Master’s of Science in Plant Breeding and Genetics from Purdue University. He is the current president of the American Forage & Grassland Council as well as a member of the Kentucky Forage and Grassland Council board of directors.

Presently residing in Boonville Indiana with his wife, Bret enjoys playing with his grandchildren, archery, hunting, and fishing in his free time.
