With operations in North America and Europe plus South America and Australia, Nuseed teams are currently busy with either spring canola, sorghum, and sunflower hybrid planting in the northern hemisphere, or harvesting sorghum and sunflowers or planting canola and Nuseed Carinata as a winter crop south of the equator.
“Our work in both hemispheres is a real strength, we have exceptional focus on our core crops for our R&D and commercial pipeline,” explains Nuseed Global Commercial General Manager, Brent Javra. “Our rich bank of global germplasm, collaborations with experts around the world, and global reach help us prove hybrids locally and bring top performing canola, carinata, sorghum or sunflower hybrids to our farm customers across the regions.”
It’s the Nuseed regional seeds businesses that provide the foundation enabling Nuseed globally to deliver VALUE BEYOND YIELD® – including new opportunities for farm customers. “We partner with growers and industry partners to supply end-use customers with new plant-based solutions,” says Javra.
Today that includes Nuseed Omega-3 Canola being planted in the United States for a land-based source of the essential nutrient. And simultaneously on the other side of the equator because it is a non-food cover crop grown between primary crops, Nuseed Carinata is being planted during Argentina’s fall to help supply rapidly growing demand for certified sustainable low-carbon fuel feedstock to meet net-zero targets.
“Spring or fall our teams are working hard to make an impact to serve our farm customers and working towards providing new sustainable solutions to really important challenges like food production, supplying a land-based source of omega-3 or reducing emissions by helping replace fossil fuels with sustainable non-food low-carbon feedstock,” says Javra.
