GEVES now offers a new method available for SE-PCR detection of Acidovorax citrulli in cucurbit seeds
France
January 2022
The GEVES now offers a high-throughput rapid SE-PCR testing service for the detection of Acidovorax citrulli in melon, watermelon, and squash seeds. The laboratory verified the performance characteristics of the ISF method and validated the proficiency of the laboratory to use this method.
This new protocol means that standard test lead-times will be reduced from 37 to 10 days. In addition, capacity is increased as larger numbers of samples can be analysed. The grow-out method remains available either as an alternative or for confirming pathogenicity after positive SE-PCR results.
