‘Nothing in Biology Makes Sense except in the Light of Evolution’, the famous title of the essay of Theodosius Dobzhansky written in 1973, is nearing its 50th birthday, but is as current as ever.
Whether one is exploring aspects of seeds as different as ecology, morphology, physiology or molecular biology, it is impossible to ignore evolution.
To highlight the importance of evolution in understanding current patterns, mechanisms and processes in seeds, Seed Science Research is turning around the focus in a special issue on Seed Evolution.
We encourage authors to submit manuscripts focussing on evolutionary aspects of seeds, whether it is in the field of ecology, morphology, physiology or molecular biology. Seed Science Research considers research articles, short communications, technical notes and reviews.
Guest editor is Filip Vandelook and the deadline for submission of manuscripts is December 1st, 2021.
