Nufarm appoints Alicia Sebastian as Horticulture Sales Specialist for Canada

Calgary, Alberta, Canada
February 8, 2021

Nufarm Canada is pleased to announce the full-time appointment of Alicia Sebastian to the role of Horticulture Sales Specialist. In this role, Alicia will be responsible for working directly with growers, retailers and distributors to escalate and advance the Nufarm horticulture portfolio of products across Canada. She will continue to reside in Guelph, Ontario.

Alicia joined Nufarm in 2018 and has quickly shown her knowledge and versatility covering two different maternity leave positions; first in row crops and horticulture, and most recently managing the entire horticulture portfolio across Canada. Her passion for horticulture blossomed while working as a summer student in the role of research assistant and field scout at the Muck Crops Research Station before joining Nufarm.

“We’re excited to have Alicia join us full-time to manage the horticulture segment of the business,” states Boyd Bergstrom, Country Lead for Nufarm Canada. “She is very well respected by customers and colleagues and has several competencies that allow her to excel in a number of different areas. Alicia has played a fundamental role in launching several new horticulture products for apples, blueberries and potatoes. We’re eager to see productivity increase because of the additions of these products to the horticulture portfolio for growers across Canada.”

The opportunities and challenges encountered in the day-to-day activities is something that attracted Alicia to the role. “I’ve always enjoyed the agronomy side of horticulture since starting out as a field scout, and learning how different pests impact crops, then figuring out the best solutions for the short and long-term,” states Sebastian. “I really enjoy interacting with customers across the value chain. Nufarm is a global company that brings new ideas, research and technology to the local level. In Canada, we can adapt quickly and focus on what the customer needs. It’s really rewarding to see our products and services make a difference in the agri-food industry.”
