BASF Canada: Our response to COVID-19

Canada
March 18, 2020

Dear Valued Customer,

In agriculture, we know what it means to operate in uncertainty. Yet, with all that has happened the last few days around COVID-19, I wanted to reach out to you directly to let you know how BASF Agricultural Solutions in Canada is responding.

We know that you depend on us to safely and reliably provide the products, agronomic advice and technical service needed to produce a strong crop, year in and year out. As always, the health and safety of our people, your family and your business, as well as the communities we all call home is our top priority.

Our detailed emergency response plans enable us to continue to create the chemistry you need to be successful this season, while at the same time safeguard those who matter to us.

Commencing March 16, we asked our office, sales and technical service teams to eliminate travel and, where possible, work virtually. Our operations, plants, research sites and other facilities remain open, with adjusted schedules and social distancing protocols in place. We are helping our over 700 staff across Canada stay informed and prepared. And more importantly, we are putting these practices in place to ensure our staff can protect themselves and their loved ones – and in turn – you and yours.

Like you, we’ll continue to monitor the situation closely. To date, there have been no material shortages or supply interruptions in North America and the impact to our operations is limited as it relates to COVID-19. Forward thinking, strategic planning and our ability to remain agile as an industry will remain key drivers of success. That’s why we are continuously evaluating the likely consequences to our business depending on the severity, spread and duration of the outbreak, and commit to communicating with you with openness and transparency.

Despite the uncertainty, we will continue to do the right thing. We will put practices in place to protect people and at the same time, deliver excellent customer service. Most importantly, we will get through this, together.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to your local BASF representative or call AgSolutions® Customer Care at 1-877-371-BASF (2273).

Sincerely,

Jonathan Sweat
Vice President, Business Management
BASF Agricultural Solutions Canada
