Incotec launches new technology: next level X-ray seed upgrading

Seed enhancer Incotec launched its latest innovative tomato seed upgrading product, X-ray next, at last week’s trade fair Seed meets Technology in Zwaagdijk, The Netherlands. By applying state-of-the art technologies including deep learning, Incotec has further advanced the company’s high-tech X-ray upgrading technology for maximizing the germination potential of a seed lot.

Incotec first introduced seed upgrading using X-ray technology in 2007. Through digital analysis of a seed embryo image, top-quality seeds are selected. Since then the wealth of data accumulated making the use of deep learning techniques possible. Deep learning is a type of artificial intelligence
