- Hotlines offer management information for five key potato-growing regions
Syngenta announced its continued sponsorship of the late blight hotlines for the 2016 season. The hotlines allow growers to access timely disease updates and management recommendations from expert researchers.
Blight hotline updates include a variety of information about weather threats, disease pressures and scouting, as well as other expert advice. Sponsored by Orondis® Opti fungicide, the hotlines provide locally specific information for five key potato-growing regions. Because these updates are area specific, growers can utilize them to make more informed management decisions.
The updates are accessible with a phone call to the following numbers:
- University of Idaho: 1-800-791-7195
- Mid-Michigan Consulting: 1-888-379-9012

“The researchers that contribute updates to these hotlines have shared a great deal of knowledge and insight over the years,” said Kiran Shetty, Ph.D., Syngenta technical development lead. “The hotlines are a great way for Syngenta to help make sure their expertise is readily available to the growers that need it. And this year, the hotlines are fittingly sponsored by new Orondis Opti fungicide, which provides excellent control of late blight. It is a partnership in which Syngenta is proud to take part.”
