Australia - Top of the crop CD

Australia
December 3, 2012

The sounds of summer for grain growers in the southern cropping region come in the form of an audio compact disc featuring some of the hottest agronomic topics.

The 2012 Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) Southern Region Driving Agronomy CD will keep growers informed and entertained over harvest and beyond.

The 15-track CD includes a regional research update from GRDC Southern Regional Panel chair David Shannon (photo), an overview of GRDC’s Strategic Plan by Managing Director John Harvey and interviews by Driving Agronomy presenter Chris Brown with some of the nation’s leading researchers and cropping experts.

Their topics include windrow burning, summer cropping, spray water quality, soil carbon and soil biology, spraying for fungal diseases and brown manuring. Crop sequencing, fighting fleabane, herbicide tolerance and new genetic material are also discussed. Adding an international flavour to the compilation are interviews on no-till farming in Argentina and farming in Kazakhstan.

The disc is included in the November-December edition of GRDC’s Ground Cover magazine.

It is also available by contacting Ground Cover Direct on 1800 110044 or by emailing ground-cover-direct@canprint.com.au.

Growers wishing to subscribe to Ground Cover can do so via the GRDC website at www.grdc.com.au/groundcover.
