Yellow rust can reduce wheat yields by 50% in untreated crops.
Varietal resistance is usually an effective way to manage the disease, but new races of the fungus have recently developed that can attack many popular varieties.
Fortunately, despite rapid changes in varietal resistance, there have not been any major changes in fungicide resistance in the past few years.
