Kincannon & Reed engaged in search for new CropLife Canada president

Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
June 20, 2013

Canada's plant science industry has engaged Kincannon & Reed to find the next president of CropLife Canada, the industry trade association.

"After over 18 years with the association, our industry association president, Lorne Hepworth, has decided to retire. Working with Kincannon & Reed, which is known for its expertise in food, agribusiness, and life sciences, will ensure that CropLife Canada can find the exceptional caliber of individual required to provide our industry with new leadership," said Kamel Beliazi, chair of the CropLife Canada board of directors.

"As an organization we are looking for a leader who will continue to work with partners throughout the food chain to enhance our ability to deliver the benefits of plant science technologies to farmers and, through farmers, to all Canadians.

"Our industry is committed to continuing its exceptional tradition of responsible innovation. Our new president will need to champion the introduction of new technologies in Canada and around the world. We look forward to working with Kincannon & Reed to find just the right person for this mission," Beliazi added.

Hepworth has served CropLife Canada as president since 1997. He was also the association's vice-president, Western Canada, from 1992-1993. A veterinarian by profession, Hepworth also spent nine years as a member of Saskatchewan's Legislative Assembly during which time he served as Minister of Agriculture, as well as several other ministries, including finance and education. Hepworth will retire February 28, 2014.
