Agrisem International introduces the Tri-O-Sem: direct seeding with fertilisers burying

August 17, 2011

Localised fertilisation in direct seeding

The Tri-O-Sem allows to seed in direct and simplified seeding. Design to work on stubble and with crop residues, this seed drill can also work on a prepared soil, for example after stubble breaking or soil loosening. The share permits a localised placement of the fertiliser under the seed, during the seeding operation. This seed drill is perfectly adapted to the Agrisem compartmented front hoppers. Indeed, both of the compartments fertilisers+seeds are transferred to the shares through two repartition heads.

A Bourgault share

The share of the machine is designed to position the fertiliser just under the seed. This part of the Tri-O-Sem was designed by Bourgault, which is well known on the other side of the Atlantic for its seed drills for direct seeding.

There is no contact between the seed and the fertiliser, in order not to burn the plant during germination. Each working part of the share is protected by carbide plates, to keep an impeccable seeding quality. For each machine, we can find 8 rows per meter of work. For example, we can find 24 rows on a Tri-O-Sem of 3m width.

A suitable roller

The Tri-O-Sem is equipped with a Flexi-Sem+ roller. This roller is made of strips of tubeless tires, around a steel cylinder. Each tread of the roller press the exact area worked by the share. With a rubber surface, the roller will not stick in wet conditions. The pressing of the seeding row is also uniform for the entire width.

Disc coulters

With a discs seed drill, it is hard to bury fertilisation easily. Furthermore, with the passage in crop residues, the seeding disc will irretrievably remove the residues at the bottom of the seed row; penalizing the seed quality and then the germination. With better precision, the share seed drill can not work in crop residues in direct seeding. The Tri-O-Sem is equipped with disc coulters, to allow its passage through crop residues.

The disc coulters of the Tri-O-Sem will vertically cut the residues in place to allow the share deposing the fertiliser and the seeds. The seed drill combines also the seeding quality of share seed drills and the capacity of the discs to pass with important residues.

Each seeding unit is mounted on a spring security standard. The security can be either 3D security or mechanical spring. The sowing pressure is constant during the seeding operation.
The Tri-O-Sem is available from 3m to 4m rigid and from 4m to 8m in folding version. A trailed kit is optional for folding models.
