At East-West Seed Thailand, we believe that good seeds alone are never enough. True success in farming comes not only from what’s inside the packet, but also from the knowledge and field management practices that help farmers achieve better results. This is why our commitment to Smallholder Empowerment goes hand in hand with seed innovation.

An example of this is when our team visited Ban Sub Sai, Thep Sathit District, Chaiyaphum, a new area for growing Flash Hot chili. Farmers there had recently adopted the variety, but faced challenges such as drought spells, reliance on rainwater, seed broadcasting instead of seedling raising, and pest- and disease-related issues including viruses from whiteflies and thrips.

To address these challenges, East-West Seed organized a knowledge access session that equipped farmers with practical solutions. The program focused on:
- Understanding local pest and disease pressures,
- Learning proper crop care and prevention methods,
- Safe and effective use of crop protection products, and
- Strengthening trust and collaboration between farmers and the East-West Seed brand.
The session used real crop samples, Q&A, and practical learning materials, enabling farmers to directly apply knowledge in their fields. The response was overwhelmingly positive – farmers welcomed the guidance and expressed confidence in adopting new practices.

For us, this initiative reflects more than selling seeds. It represents our role as a trusted partner, walking alongside farmers every step of the way to improve productivity, resilience, and livelihoods.
