Seed Agronomic Sales Advisor - Western Iowa (Field)

We are looking for an Seed Agronomic Sales Advisor to join our Agricultural Solutions team and support the Western Iowa territory.

As an Seed Agronomic Sales Advisor, you will develop and strengthen strategic relationships with retailers, growers, and consultants across your territory. Serving as a trusted agronomic expert, you will provide recommendations on BASF seed, crop protection, and seed treatment solutions that help customers maximize productivity, yield, and profitability. You will serve as the primary business lead for assigned retailers, driving growth through effective business planning, product positioning, and customer engagement. In this role, you will be accountable for achieving annual sales targets across the seed, crop protection, and seed treatment portfolios while collaborating closely with internal and external partners to deliver value to customers. This position requires regular travel throughout the territory, including overnight travel of up to 5%.

As an Seed Agronomic Sales Advisor, you create chemistry by...

  • Establishing strategic business and agronomic plans with key growers, serving as the primary BASF contact and delivering both short- and long-term solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Developing territory and retailer business plans that drive growth across seed, crop protection, and seed treatment portfolios while positioning BASF as the partner of choice.
  • Creating demand for BASF seed (70%) and crop protection products (30%) through targeted sales strategies, forecasting, product positioning, and collaborative customer engagement.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to growers and retailers by providing expert agronomic, seed, and crop protection recommendations.
  • Driving achievement of sales, market share, and financial targets through accurate forecasting, KPI management, and disciplined execution.
  • Collaborating with sales teams, technical service representatives, strategic account managers, and retail partners to implement customer plans and accelerate business growth.
  • Building strong partnerships with retail agronomists, seed managers, and sales teams through joint customer interactions that maximise product placement and performance.
  • Developing and executing market development strategies, product launch plans, crop-focused activities, and product positioning initiatives that support territory growth objectives.

If you...

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree and have 4+ years of professional sales experience.
  • Have a proven track record of driving sales results, coupled with strong business acumen and analytical thinking.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Excel at time, territory, and resource management, enabling you to effectively prioritize and achieve business objectives.
  • Are proficient with digital tools and technologies, including Microsoft Office applications and agricultural sales platforms such as Sales X and SalesForce.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment and use data, insights, and technology to support strategic decision-making and deliver results.
