Continuous Improvement Analyst

Location: Oxnard, California, USA

Monsanto’s North America Vegetable Supply Chain Organization is seeking a dedicated, lean and continuous improvement focused, self-directed Continuous Improvement Analyst to join our team. The continuous improvement analyst will work closely with plant personnel to understand and eliminate wastes to improve safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow all environmental health and safety procedures and practices to assure a safe work environment.
  • Initiate, lead, facilitate and execute projects using Lean/Six Sigma principles to enhance the overall effectiveness of manufacturing operations and achieve operational excellence.
  • Train, coach and challenge process owners in the use of Lean tools.
  • Report out metrics for verification of continuous improvement activities including cost out activities.
  • Aid production personnel in implementing improvement ideas, standard work, 5S and other resources they may need.
  • Maintain 5S programs and other existing lean programs
  • Utilize Visual Board and Gemba management
  • Perform time and motion studies, facilities planning/cell design and efficiency improvements as needed
  • Understand the linkage between operations process to be able to identify opportunities for automation or streamlining of processes
  • Analyze machine capacities, labor and lead times to bring about operational and labor cost savings
Qualifications:
  • Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or similar) degree.
  • 3+ years' experience applying lean concepts to manufacturing process and environment
  • Leadership and training of shop-floor employees
  • Hands-on leadership of improvement workshops
Required Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Computer proficiency with SAP (preferred)
  • Knowledge of MPS and MRP
  • APICS certification (preferred)
  • High Proficiency Level with Excel (macros), Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to lead and work cohesively as a team member; interacting and building positive working relationships within the organization and across other functional groups and departments
  • Agility to support changes in a dynamic work environment demonstrating an innovative approach to problem solving
  • Strong results orientation with a bias for action
  • Lean Certified
  • Demonstrated analytical and decision making ability
