Senior Farm Manager

Your tasks and responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Farm Manager, are to:
- Coordinate and manage the facilitation of R&D, logistics and M&S in the area (country);
- Adapt the farm facilities and the needed personnel (quantity and quality) to the immediate, mid-term and long-term needs of the supported divisions;
- Coordinate the execution of the crop management;
- Provide facilities, technical support and personnel where needed (breeding, research, HTP, trialing, QASS, seed production, operations);
- Provide the departments of Bayer / BSC with information and advise, when requested;
- Monitor and manage the people involved in crop management on the farm(s);
- Manage, direct and coordinate the personnel flow within the farm team, after approval of the Regional Farm Head and in cooperation with HR;
- Manage and coach the farm personnel (either direct, or through a Farm Foremen), including appraisal, training and development, and career planning by using HR instruments, guidelines, procedures and advise in order to select and maintain competent employees and assure the quality of the service provided to R&D, Logistics and M&S;
- Monitor the processes around hiring temporary personnel in line with the Bayer CropScience Vegetable HRM rules;
- Monitor health- and safety-aspects on all the working places in the farm;
- Monitor and execute the operational farm budget for the area or country;
- Monitor monthly forecast of the farm costs;
- Adjust budgets by previsions;
- Adapt the budget to the real and specific situations;
- Organize the purchase of material in line with the Bayer CropScience Vegetable Purchase policy;
- Monitor farm costs of breeding and project budgets for the area or country;
- Monitor and execute the investments within the farm budget for the area or country ;
- Provide orientation on the market for technical developments concerning GH and farm equipment;
- Coordinate the major investments in GH and farm buildings;
- Compile the yearly breeding investment budgets in line with the Bayer CropScience Veg. controlling rules;
- Purchase investments in line with the Bayer CropScience Vegetable purchase policy;
- Work in close cooperation with the local facility management;
- Monitor and monthly forecast of the investments;
- Adjust investment budgets by previsions;
- Adapt the investment budget to the real and specific situations;
- Contribute to the global knowledge and expertise in farm management;
- Give advice in line with the Bayer CropScience Veg. global standards for farm equipment;
- Participate in the exchange of knowledge on farm equipment and crop management with other Bayer CropScience Vegetable farm managers globally.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related discipline, or specific Agronomic and Management training and five (5) years of relevant experience in an Agriculture field of work or a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience working in an Agricultural farm setting;
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing teams with permanent and seasonal personnel;
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to communicate with different levels of stakeholders;
- Must be persuasive and the ability to establish good rapport with stakeholders;
- Proficient with MS Office products;
- General knowledge of OSHA requirements;
- Experience managing projects and resources;

Preferred Qualifications:
