Job Description -

To maintain and execute Vilmorin Quality Control Procedures, check and ensure quality standards are adhered to.  Keep inventory characteristics/status updated.  Provide a single point of contact for all quality related matters.

Primary Functions:

• Monitor and execute Quality Control Program
• Maintain and adhere to industry quality standards
• Document and report any discrepancies in quality standards
• Work with the stakeholders to determine, flag and track excess/obsolete/surplus inventory
• Facilitate additional testing upon request from internal customers
• Maintain written procedures
• Maintain and update physical and electronic files as received
• Execute reoccurring germination updates
• Create and update lot characteristics (germination rate, purity, vigor, disease) as received
• Maintain and execute procedures for traceability program
• Maintain traceability files
• Review quality for all incoming seed (productions and buy-ins)
• Review suitability results on whole head lettuce varieties and provide direction to stakeholders
• Maintain lab and conduct in-house germinations as needed
• Main point of contact for labs and all quality related issues
• Assist Production Manager with production contracts, stock seed inventory, import/export documentation, data entry, stock shipments, production receiving
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

• 3-5 years vegetable seeds industry experience
• High School diploma
• Some College attendance preferred
• Basic office environment experience (phones, copying, faxing, filing, etc.)
• Computer skills (working knowledge of MS word, excel, internet, e-mail)
• Ideal knowledge of SAP or JDE
