Seed Technologies Coordinator
Location: Uchaud, France Permanent position – Full-time
Context
Sakata Vegetables Europe is a subsidiary of Sakata Seed Corporation (Japan) and is responsible for the development and expansion of the activities across the EMEA area. With our wide array of vegetable seeds, we want to create a confidence-based relationship with our customers, working to our age-old motto of Quality, Reliability and Service. Our Operations teams performs an essential role in taking in charge seeds lots and preparing orders so that we can supply right quantities & quality at the right time to our clients.
Missions
In this department, you will coordinate Seed technologies activities. This complete position includes management/organisational as well as operational activities. You will need to:
Management activities:
- Plan and coordinate the activities of the Seed technologies team in order to follow our customer order requests
- Daily team management (2/3 persons)
Operational activities:
- Realize technical operations as film coating, disinfections, sizing, cleaning and priming following carefully our internal rules and our international accreditations.
- Bring his/her technical expertise in case of an issue on the lot
- Manage consumables linked to Seed Technologies activities
- Participate to audits, the setup of corrective action plans, and the update of the quality system documents
- Participate actively in all the projects linked to Seed Technologies (purchase of machinery, recruitments, budget preparation …)
Profile
- We are looking for candidates with an experience of at least 5 years on a similar position, management experience is mandatory.
- A good knowledge in seed technologies is essential, and you also have a good understanding of seed physiology.
- A 2/3 years degree in agronomy/plant biology would be a plus.
- Organisation and communication abilities, as well as flexibility are required for this position.
- You have a good capacity to work with and supervise a team.
- Operational activities require rigor and precision.
- Mastery of English (at least read and written) is necessary in our international context as well as computer skills in order to be complete all functions, knowledge of an ERP would be a plus.
